LAUAN504 - Documentary Weekly Blog

Over this week, I have been working on more backgrounds for our documentary animation. I have completed a various number of backgrounds, as well as created a sketch for one of them.

Map of England (Ft. Wales)




This background is a basic map of England. I will be animating for this background and will add some text.


Burning Londinium 




I have created the illustration background for this scene in particular while my partner will be animating fire and the character in this scene. I have used multiple Londinium paintings as well as fictional cities such as King's Landing from Game of Thrones as a reference.

I will also be animating some parts of this scene. I used various images of woods and one picture of Watling Street to create this background.

I used the same basic background for each in order to save some time.I made some minor changes in the background. 

Forest Background Sketch:

A rough sketch for one of the final backgrounds in the animation.

What to improve:

- Lighting on the forest backgrounds.

What went well:

- Good lighting and shading on the Londinium background.

- Well structured backgrounds.

- Good use of colour.
