 Over the past week I have been looking at various western icons and watching films and videos on the Western genre to understand what goes into making a Western themed film. I have also been creating studies of different symbols that are commonly found in Western films.

Western Studies

These are a few studies I have made that relate to Westerns, for example the hat and the revolver. It would be worth drawing more of these in different variations in the future.

Since my animation will feature many fantasy elements, such as demons and creatures, I will be looking at different depictions of such beings in media, history and art.
